Jyl – Positions

Aside murphy January 10, 2018 0

Jyl (pronounced Jill) was a synth pop project along the lines of Kraftwerk, Yellow Magic Orchestra, and Propaganda, and named after the beautiful singer herself, Jyl. The group recorded in Germany and consisted of Jyl Porch on vocals, with some lyrical contribution by Angela Werner, Ingo Werner on electronics, and Christoph Haberer on electronic percussion and drum programming. Their self-titled album was produced by Ingo Werner and Klaus Schulze, and was originally released in 1984.This collaboration resulted in a fascinating piece of electronic music that is perfectly produced and timeless. Jyl has a great vocal range and, at times sounds like Siouxsie, David Sylvian and a bit of Annie Lennox.
